KS1-KS4 workshop which looks at forensic science through interactive workshops.
This event is an excellent platform for getting students to understand and relate science to the world of work. Students operate in teams comprising of lead detective, blood expert, fingerprint expert, hair expert and crime scene artist.
During the morning all team members visit a workshop to learn their trade for the day before coming back together to analysis results and making a judgement on who committed the crime. Normally teachers are used as suspects on the day, making the event more fun.
In the afternoon each team presents its case to the jury as to which suspect committed the crime and how they came to this conclusion.
This project fits perfectly to the science curriculum, work-related learning and enterprise education. It also promotes key skills including team work, communication and problem solving techniques.
