Structures Challenge
Structures Challenge - Build a Bridge. This event is introduced by a civil engineer, who share their expertise, knowledge and advice with Year 5 or 6 pupils. The engineer will also judge the final piece of work with certificates awarded for Best Overall, Most Creative and Strongest Structure.
The aims of the project are to:-
- To raise awareness of the many skills and job opportunities within the construction industry
- To support STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) activities within the National Curriculum
- To demonstrate the importance of team building skills
- To help pupils develop an understanding of planning and time management
- To develop communication skills and help raise self-esteem
- To improve learning
