Title: Job Opportunities

In this scenario, pupils are invited to complete application forms for a variety of job opportunities for which full descriptions are given.
Applicants are then chosen on the strength of their applications, and unsuccessful candidates put on a reserve list. Contracts and conditions of service are then signed. This procedure is replicated as closely as possible to recruitment procedures.

Examples of a job vacancies:
• Dinner Supervisors
• Hygiene Assistants
• Beaker Supervisors
• Tray Supervisors
• Librarians
• Environmental Engineers
• Break-Time Buddies
• Paired Readers
• Exit Supervisors
• Administrator's Assistant

This is an excellent opportunity for  lunchtime / breaktime activity which gives pupils high profile, recognition and a sense of responsibility.

Title: Marketing Challenge

A shopping centre manager has had complaints from shop keepers that it is not doing enough to attract customers to their stores.

This project gives pupils an understanding of:
• management roles within the Retail Business
• strategies and business plans
• meeting procedures
• effective and creative marketing

Pupils would be expected to work as part of a team to solve this problem. Pupils then present their marketing ideas to the group.

The winning team is judged for its creativity and presentation skills

PSHE & CITIZENSHIP

Citizenship involves pupils learning about themselves as developing individuals and as members of their communities. We can develop a range of programmes which look at specific aspects of citizenship encompassing the Every Child Matters framework.
