Part 1: “Sun Snacks” : 
  Writing for business (formal writing skills) 

Part 2: “ Spinning a Yarn”
   Storytelling and writing (creative writing skills)

Part 3: “Read all about it”
    Journalism (factual writing and reporting skills)   

Location:               Host School / Classroom

Areas:                    NE / E / NW Hampshire

Number of pupils:  Max 30 in each area (Total 90 pupils)

Target Age Group: Year 5/6 Pupils should be working at English Level 5. The same children should attend all 4 sessions (2 hours) as each session builds on the previous one.

AIMS of the COURSE:

• To raise awareness of the different types of writing
• To put each course into context by presenting it as a work-related scenario
• To acknowledge, develop and build on the pupils' talents to improve the quality of  their writing 
• To develop communication skills and raise self esteem
• To provide extension and enrichment opportunities
• To work with other pupils of similar abilities from different schools
• To develop teamwork skills
• To develop presentation skills
