The Building Challenge
Introduced by a member of the Contruction Industry, this challenge is all about taking on a role and working with a team. Teams need to use strategic thinking, planning, memory, good communication skills and cost control.
Location: School Hall
Areas:
- Westfields Junior School, Yateley
- Owlsmoor Primary School, Bracknell
- The Herne Junior School, Petersfield
- Walsh Junior School, Ash
- Portway Junior School, Andover
Number of Pupils: Teams of 6 - up to 10 teams per challenge
Target Age Group: Year 6 G&T
Aims of the Event
To provide a stimulating team challenge for more able pupils to develop the following skills:
- Communication - speaking and listening
- Memory and Thinking
- Organisational - planning and time management
- Team Building - using own and other people's strengths
- Financial management
To raise awareness of job opportunities within the construction industry and to provide information and valuable resources for pupils and teachers related to that industry
