A PDP is a period of time spent by a teacher in a company or other organisation.  This can greatly enhance teaching and learning and can focus on curriculum and/or management skills development.

Structured programmes, with clear aims and objectives, support a variety of curricular and continued professional development outcomes, including links to work related learning.  Activities are tailored to meet specific needs.

A placement aims to:

  • Refresh and update the teacher’s current knowledge
  • Act as a stimulus for classroom material
  • Provide opportunities for sustainable links with business
  • Address specific personal training needs
  • Support the development of leadership and managements skills
  • Hands-on preparation for work-related learning and enterprise.
