Year 11 students from Test Valley School in Stockbridge get the opportunity to set up and run their own fashion house for this two day event, culminating in a fashion show on the second day. But there is a catch - the items must be made out of entirely recycled materials!
This activity gives students a real-life opportunity to learn about how a business operates. Each member of the team has a specific job role such as the Managing Director, Events Mangers, Choreographers, Graphic Designers, Fashion Designers or models. The students have to work as a team to produce quality products for their show, using only plastic bags and junk.
Winners in 2008 were Noir Couture who designed a French Revolution inspired collection. This year's year 11 will enjoy the event on 16th and 17th December. There is a waiting list for business facilitators to support as this event has been very popular.
