Enterprise Craft Fair

This activity gave students a real-life opportunity to learn about how a business operates.  Each member of the team had a specific job role such as accountant, marketing, production or Managing Director.  The students had to work as a team to produce a quality products which they could sell to visitors.  Councillor Pamela Mutton, Mayor of Test Valley, and her Consort, Mr Dennis Mutton, officially opened the fair and announced the start of trading.

Jacqui Ranger Project Manager at First Partnership stated "The students of Test Valley School worked extremley hard to produce, price, market and the sell top quality products.  With the assistance of business professionals from HSA, Newbury Building Society and Winchester Universary, the school raised over £600 in profit to donate to Cancer Research UK."

The Enterprise Champions were 'Petal Pots' who sold hand-painted pots containing the school's plants, contributing over £80 to the final total.  There was also an award chosen by the visiting business professionals who chose 'The Peg Company' as their favourite for their innovative and creative use of ordinary pegs and imaginative marketing strategy.

Another Craft Fair Community Enterprise Challenge is being planned for Decemeber and will involve year 11 students.  For details of how to get involved please contact Jacqui Ranger at First Partnership on 01252 852471
