Targeted at YR10 & YR11 this interactive one day series of workshops looks at the Olympic Games and Enterprise in depth. The day is supported by the British Olympic Foundation and is appropriate for all students to attend.

Enterprise of the Olympics

After an introduction to the day students take part in the following workshops:

Entrepreneurial skills:

This workshop will look at five key skills including team work, evaluation, creative thinking, problem solving and communication in relation to the olympic games complex.

Business Planning:

This workshop looks at the requirements needed to be successful in organising pre games actions including the planning cycle and SWOT analysis.

Sales and Marketing

This workshop looks at the 4 Ps - Product, Price, Placement and Promotion before going onto sponsorship, ambush marketing and advertising.

Finance

This workshop looks at the importance issue of finance in the context of the enormous debt mounted up at the Montreal Games in 1976.

Target setting

A practical session that involves sports science testing equipment that Olympic atheletes utilise in training. The session focuses on information gathering to achieve elite Olympic standard targets.

This event is suitable as a consortium wide event or as a whole year group event. The day can accommodate upto 200 students at one time.
